The Dance of my Belly

Women are naturally prone to move their hips. Real women. And what I mean by "real women" is more of a caricature of the female form. If you were to draw a woman's figure in the sand, you would exaggerate her hip and boob line, right? That's the woman I'm talking about.

So, I started this belly dancing class this evening and love it. It epitomizes the way a woman's body should move. It uses what she already has and knows how to do versus trying to force her into an unnatural movement. It's quite beautiful. It's powerful, seductive, and enchanting.

Just as I love to see a man doing manly movements, like hammering, playing football, lifting heavy objects (weights) and martial arts, I think that they like to see women doing feminine movements. It makes it easier to appreciate each other's forms... to admire it, to want it, to crave it.

I am not a runner. The boobs don't permit it. I even used ACE bandages once to hold them down. I couldn't breathe. Aerobics make me jump and shake awkwardly. I'm not flexible enough for yoga or Pilate's. I mean, I could do those things if I practiced, but I would rather learn an awesome dance than a a few little movements. Plus, when you're learning to belly dance, you're learning a dance, and it doesn't even feel like you're exercising. So, I walk and belly dance to keep fit. It's great!
